New Year’s Eve can be a lot of fun or a large dud depending on what you end up doing and how you end up treating yourself. Check out our mini green tips to make your New Year’s celebration entertaining and eco friendly.
Prepare For The Worst: If you understand that you’re going into war (i.e. drinking love a sailor) prepare your body for the toxins you are about to give it.
Step 1: Hydrate all day today. Drink water like it is going out of style. I also highly recommend picking up two liter cases of O.N.E. young coconut water. This natural drink is full of electrolytes and is a perfect drink to hydrate your body. Drink a liter during the day and then first thing tomorrow when you wake up. It’s way better than Gatorade and doesn’t come in plastic (they sell O.N.E. at Whole Foods).
Step 2: Coat your stomach with a real meal. Tonight is not a night to eat salad. Check out some organic grub at cafe’s like The Little Next Door Real Food Daily Le Pain Quotidien etc. Or head to your local market and pick up organic frozen pizzas breaded chicken tenders and other healthy except filling foods. Don’t forget to pick up some stuff for the morning behind like well just in case you can’t make it out to breakfast with your friends.
Step 3: Know your poison. There are so many delicious organic spirits out there these days so why settle for Popov? A few of my personal favorites include 4 Copas Organic Tequila Tru Organic Vodka and Veev (a Vodka like drink made from Acai Berries). Whole Foods & Trader Joe’s also take decent selections of organic wines and champagnes that might favour you as well.
Take benefit of the fact that METRO LA will be running for FREE. There is no need to risk driving if you don’t need to. If you’ve never taken the Metro before now is a perfect time to try.
