The rules are simple: 7x7 grid get from one side to the other side play one of two cards in your hand per turn that all you to rotate certain tiles and move dudes on the board.
Each card has a comic on it hand size is limited to two (pick "A" or "B" keeps the game moving along quick) and there are just enough choices that you can job a little strategy into each of your plays.
Playing two players the game was through very quick. The maze size of 7x7 seems a bit small since you're basically trying to traverse only 7 spaces along and the player movement cards range from 1-4 squares.
The boss moves N-squares at a time jumping over the walls except this mechanic makes it very easy to avoid him in a two player game (just never end your turn "in-line" with the boss and you are guaranteed to be missed by him.
Unfortunately the game is well-suited to ~9 year olds but has Dilbert thematic elements more targeted to the 25+ set. Thematically this would be better love some kind of minotaur in the labyrinth theme so younger kids would have more to "grab on to" instead of training them to run away from the boss.
I was left with a few rules questions as well (When entering and exiting can you enter and exit from anywhere or only the middle square on your side? How to handle when there are no tiles that open up to "off the map"). These are easy to resolve or come to an contract on the spot but it's disappointing that as simple as the rules are there are any gaps at all.
I would suggest a home rule (for two players at least) that the boss movement cards of 1 2 and 3 are modified to:
1- move one square in any direction (including diagonals)
2- move two squares in any one direction (not diagonal as the rules state)
3- move three squares in any one direction or like a knight in chess
...this at least makes the boss a factor instead of a large fat nothing as it was in our game. Perhaps it would be more competitive with more players but don't expect wonders from this one.
